Just a short note to send to you an outline Descendant Chart of what I have on the Lyles family.
Millie Lyles may have been the daughter of William, or John , or some other early Lyles, since she was born about 1804 -5.
I have listed only 5 generations, from John who was father of Ephraim, who was the father of Arramanus.
I send this only as a temporary file, since I certainly cannot vouch for its complete authenticity. But most of it is fairly correct.
I can send you a Genealogy Report which is much more complete and in a narrative form. It is full of notes, etc., since I have made this all for my children and grandchildren, and one greatgrandson.
Carrie Lyles Traylor's Lyles bloodline is printed with CAPITALS. Her other ancestral bloodlines are printed with bold font. Red letters indicate changes I made to Millie Lyles' chart. Modifications were based on information contained in Ederington's History of Fairfield County, tombstones, etc..
From "Mills' Statistics" : "The first settlement of Fairfield District took place about the year 1745. Colonel John Lyles and his brother, Ephraim , were among the first settlers. They located at the mouth of Beaver Creek, on Broad River. Ephraim Lyles was killed by Indians in his own house; but by a wonderful interposition of Povidence, the Indians went off and left Lyles' seven or eight children and his wife in it, after killing a Negro on the outside. The Lyles were native of Brunswick, Va., but moved to this county from Buis County, (?) N.C."
